Recent instructions are to connect via PowerShell to SharePoint to set the LegacyAuthProtocolEnabled $True

 

Install the  MSOL Sign-in Assistant, Azure active Directory Module, SharePoint Online Management Shell:

Connect to all Office 365 services in a single Windows PowerShell windows

  • You need to install the modules that are required for Office 365, SharePoint Online, and Skype for Business Online:
  • Connect to all Office 365 services in a single Windows PowerShell window
    1. Run this command, and enter your Office 365 work or school account credentials.
      $credential = Get-Credential
      
    2. Run these commands to connect to Office 365.
      Import-Module MsOnline
      
      Connect-MsolService -Credential $credential
      
    3. Run these commands to connect to SharePoint Online. Replace domainhost with the actual value for your domain. For example, for litwareinc.onmicrosoft.com, the domainhost value is litwareinc.
      Import-Module Microsoft.Online.SharePoint.PowerShell -DisableNameChecking
      
      Connect-SPOService -Url https://domainhost-admin.sharepoint.com -credential $credential
      
  • Lastly run the command: set-SPoTenant -LegacyAuthProtocolsEnabled $True

If the powershell doesn’t work as usual put in a Support Request via Admin Center:
